| Personal History | On December 12, 2242, a bundle of joy arrived 2 weeks early to Steven and Lisa Adams. They named their first born son, who was almost 8 pounds at birth, John J Adams. His parents were teachers in the Academy school system, teaching the children of Starfleet officers while they were stationed on Earth, John was a good child. Hardly cried, and always seemed to be in good spirits. Despite being born 2 weeks early, John was very healthy. By the time he was 5, he was already close to 5 feet tall. The doctors could find nothing wrong with him, so they chalked it up to fate. The family welcomed Matthew into the clan when John was 6. John wasn't jealous, in fact, he liked his little brother and always looked out for him. |

| Education Record | John was always the tallest child in every grade he had. He wasn't a bully, in fact, he protected the younger children by older bullies. John was in fact, not stupid. His grades were always very good in whatever subject he took. He was always smarter then 97% of the other students in all his classes. He didn't flaunt it, he helped tutor those children needing help. He was vert active in school sports. Most time, he held back some to allow other children to contribute...he could have easily dominated every game he played. John's teachers told his parents that they should allow John to skip grades, but they refused, saying that John needed to learn to adjust to his surroundings. By the time John finished high school, he had a choice to make: go to college or join Starfleet. He didn't know what he wanted to do with his life, so starfleet seemed a logical choice. His parents were friendly with several starfleet officers and their spouses agreed that John would find purpose at the academy, and that he would make an excellent security officer. So, the decision was made, he would apply to the academy. He took the test, and passed, and with his test results, his school grades and recommendations from several officers, he was admitted to the next term's Academy class. |

| Service Record | Cadet Adams arrived a week before his classes were due to start. He took the time to become familar with the campus and his room. He met hi roommate, a Bolian. Cadet Adams took the standard entrance physical, psychological and appitude tests. All which he passed. His appitude test showed he'd be better suited for Security, and Command. So he made his major Security/Tactical and his minor Command. Once the semester started, Adams had no problems adjusting. He made friends easily, helped those who needed some tutoring, and joined many sports clubs at the academy. He dated a few female cadets, but nothing came of the relationship. The years went quickly. Seems like he just started when graduation was around the corner. His final grades placed him in the top 8% of the graduating class. His first posting was the USS Hoover, a Miranda class ship. He was assigned to the security section at teh rank of Ensign. The Hoover saw little action, but Ensign Adams enjoyed the experience. It was a large ship, with a large crew, so off duty, there was always something going on. His department head gave him a good review on his performance evals. His next assignemt was on the USS Odyssey, a Nebula class starship. The Odyssey had some run ins with the Klingons, and there were numerous landing parties assignments for him. One time the landing party was ambushed when they beamed down to a planet by a group of Klingons. The 1st officer was wounded, and the battle ended up being hand to hand combat. By the time the ship was able to send reinforcements, only Adams was left standing, the bodies of dead Klingons around him. The landing party suffered only 2 deaths, and for his actions, Ensign Adams was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and awarded the Medal Of Honor. After 2 years, an opening for a security chief was available on the USS America. The now Lieutenant John J Adams, applied and was accepted. |
