Mission: Mission 8 - A Blast from the Past
Location: Engineering
Timeline: 2296/03/12 1800

Part of being a Captain was knowing what was best for her crew. Right now, O'Connor had a Chief Engineer that was lazy, disobedient, and a self-considered womanizer. Just thinking about that last adjective made O'Connor smirk and chuckle. He was so easy to put in his place. Just a boy playing at being a man. Sometimes O'Connor wondered how any of those people made it into Starfleet.

However, O'Connor did know that she had one special engineer in Brian Pendragon. He might not be able to fix a door but he could work other miracles. There was a certain innocence about him and she felt the need to protect him from Radars. The only question was how she could manage it. She looked over a PADD containing a manifest. "There," she proclaimed to the air in the room of her office. "Helm. Brian will cross-train flying the ship." She grinned to the empty room.

O'Connor made way to the Avian shuttle, where she knew that she would find Radars finishing repairs. Once there, she called out, "Radars, I need to speak to you."

Glenn popped out from under a console. "'sup Cap?" he asked with a smirk. "Just so you know, its a no from me. I've got a thing going with White Cat at the moment. And by thing I mean..." he simply smirked at her. "Well, you know. This and that..."

"I'm not certain what you have going on in your pornographic imagination, Lieutenant, but let me assure you that if the universe depended on you breeding with me, that the universe would be doomed. So, whatever you have going on with that communications officer, I pity her." O'Connor shook her head at the engineer. "You have an engineer named Pendragon. Know him?"

"Yeah" Glenn replied. "I do indeed know him. I know most of my staff; and a few from Communications too, obviously." he added with a wink.

That makes me even more glad that I did not send Pendragon for training in communications. It is the last thing that he needs. "Good. Then you know the promise the lieutenant shows. I'm going to send him for some training on the helm, so he will be cross training to broaden his skill set. Notify Pendragon immediately, as I've already made the arrangements for him."

"Why would you want an engineer on the helm?" Glenn asked simply.

"Cross training," O'Connor replied with a crooked grin. And to get him away from you. "I believe it is important to have a versatile staff. Don't you?" she dared Radars to defy her logic.

"I suppose you're right. Just don't make me fly the ship, I prefer goofing off in the engine room!" Glenn smirked. "Well, unless you recommend I take up some 'Communications Training'. I could 'help' White Cat with her station," he grinned.

"I would never dream of giving you more responsibility," O'Connor answered with her eyebrows furrowing. "As to further training, if you want it, I will happily give you a lesson you will never forget on the gym mat. I would even invite others to participate in the learning. What do you think, Radars?" O'Connor asked with a malicious grin.

"I would never hit a lady," Glenn smirked. "So, yeah, I'd take you on anytime!" he laughed loudly.

"First, I'm not a lady. I'm a Captain. Second, you couldn't handle me. I assure you. But you can take your best shot." She snickered. "Too bad that your phasers are loaded with water."

"My phaser is loaded with something much better than that. Why not ask white-cat about that..." he said with a cheeky wink. "So, is there anything else you wanted, apart from a date with yours truly?"

"Mr. Radars, from where I stand, you can only shoot blanks and the only date that I have with you is one that involves pushing you out of an airlock. So, if you're quite through doing what you consider flirting, go about informing Mr. Pendragon."

"Ouch..." Glenn said pretending to wince. "You know how to kill a man don't you Captain..." he took a step away. "No wonder you're still single..." he muttered under his breath with a smirk.

"I've killed men before and I will again, I'm sure. Too bad you don't qualify as one." With that the Captain smirked, turned around, and flipped her long red hair around as she turned. "Goodbye Radars. I'll look forward to seeing Mr. Pendragon on the bridge tomorrow."

Glenn simply smirked as he watched the captain leave. "Oh I dunno, you should ask White-Cat if I qualify as a man or not..." he grinned. "At least I can get something..." he muttered before turning back to his console, pulling up a chair, leaning back on it and putting his legs up on the console relaxing.

As O'Connor left, she heard Radar's statement and she called back, "Something hardly means anything."
